21-Day Challenge

An alert popped up on my phone this morning: ImpactClub Boise – 21 days.
Holy cow. 3 weeks.
Each event comes up so fast.
I felt my stomach twisting up with nervous excitement – as it does prior to every event, as I hope and pray we’ll have another successful event and continue to grow and inspire others.
Luckily, I know I’m not alone on this quest. I have a small army of fellow Impact Club Members I can count on.
Just last week, fellow ImpactClub® Boise member Daniel Frank asked me what the record was for the most new member signs up by a fellow member. He wanted to know the number so he could beat it.
It’s that kind of spirit that has taken ImpactClub® from a cool idea to now, just one year later, and $60,000 donated to our community, and $750,000 donated nationally, to a full blown movement.
It’s real. It’s a movement that is inspiring others and providing a great opportunity for citizens to engage with philanthropy. To feel, see, and hear their efforts impacting others.
It’s not perfect by any means, but volunteers continue to build it. Continue to grow and invest in it.
People like Daniel are stepping up, reaching out to others, sharing the story of Impact Club.
I told Daniel, that I didn’t know what the record was for the most member sign ups by a fellow member. So instead, I threw out a challenge to Daniel, and all the rest of the ImpactClub® warriors out there.
21 Days, 10 Member Challenge
Typically, I encourage members to help inspire just one other person to join ImpactClub®, many of them have and from those efforts we’ve grown to 200+ sustaining members. Woot, Woot!
But for those who love a challenge (you know who you are).
The challenge is 10 new member sign ups by Jun 6th. That is just 21 days away.
This is just for fun, pride, and of course, the appreciation of other ImpactClub® members and your community. 10 members means an extra $1,000 we can donate per event, which would be so awesome. I know we can do it!
Possible Tactics
1. Go old school. Pick up the phone or meet someone face to face. Old school is the new school because you can have a meaningful conversation about it. Funny how that is a lost art?
2. Use the Power of Story. There is a story behind why you joined. Something inspired you to take the leap and why you are inspired to help Impact Club grow. Tell your story.
3. The written word. You want to get someone’s attention? Send them a private note. A personalized card, letter, email, FB message, or even text. For best results I recommend staying authentically you. Nobody likes getting messages from robots.
4. One to Many. This is often my weapon of choice to deliver a message. Unfortunately, this strategy has proven to be the most difficult at winning hearts and minds, which is why it often takes many communications for it to be effective. But just like any well-made TV series, it can turn a causal fan into a die-hard evangelist.
Competition Guidelines
A. Steps to register your inspired friends and family:
- Simply send them to http://ImpactClub.com to register. Or if you want our website to track how many people you’ve inspired to sign up, send them to http://ImpactClub.com/join/you
rusername, either way is fine. - Once on the website, scroll to the bottom. Click ‘Join Now.’ Follow prompts and they’ll become a member in less than 5 minutes.
- T-Shirts and Membership Cards will be on site at the next event.
- If you have any success in getting others to join, let us know. Send me an email, or post it on FB. Doesn’t matter if you get 1 or 10 people to join, it’s all good and we’d love to hear about it.
B. Have fun with it. The more people we inspire, the more impact we can bring to our community.
C. Don’t delay getting started. Just 21 days until our next event. I can’t wait!
If you are reading this and you haven’t joined ImpactClub® Boise, then… what are you waiting for? We want you.
On June 6th, some local charitable organization is going to walk home with $20,000 and we want you to be a part of it. To be a member, just follow the link above. It’s a commitment of $100, paid 4 times a year at each quarterly event. You can put it on your credit/debit card for your convenience.
For you die-hard members out there… 21 days to 10 members. The bigger/harder the goal, the more rewarding it is. I’m taking up the challenge. Who’s with me?
