Your voice is more powerful than your money

Yesterday I wrote about years of losing sleep because my daughter was a Night Fury. I was kept up last night for a different reason. I’m in a hotel just outside of Portland, and the bozos on the floor above me came rolling in around 3:30am. They’re still making a ruckus up there.
For the first couple hours I was pissed off, now I’m just impressed.
I’m here to spend a few days with Ryan Fletcher and his team.
Ryan is the Co-Founder of Impact Club and we are strategizing the rollout of Impact Club’s forthcoming website and our new mortgage branch.
Being here has me so fired up about where Impact Club is going.
The website is awesome! Ryan developed a way to “gamify” making impact that teaches members and charitable organizations how to become better storytellers.
Why is this important? As Ryan said yesterday on a conference call to all Impact Club co-founders, “Our voice is more powerful than our money.”
He’s right. You can never donate “enough” money.
As individuals we just don’t have an endless supply of money we can give. But if we learn to be master storytellers for causes we believe in, we can inspire others into action, and there is no cap or limit to the impact we can make by inspiring others.
Impact Club is not about donating a quarterly check; it’s about sustainable impact to our communities. We aim to strengthen our communities, and we can do that by becoming incredible storytellers.
Tomorrow I will write about the most underestimated aspect to running or starting a business (other than storytelling). The secret ingredient that most business owners ignore, and what ultimately causes business to plateau or fail.
Hopefully tonight my upstairs neighbors will be too tired to party all night long, because I’d really like to get some sleep. And apparently I’m not the only one who has raised a Night Fury, as I received a number of responses from parents who are currently facing a similar challenge. Hang in there.
Cheers,
Mike Turner
