Q & A Friday

Good Morning!
I’m no Dear Abby and I may not have all the answers, but I do get a fair amount of questions from clients and contacts. The topics vary, from real estate, marketing, business development, and local economy to philanthropy, parenting, travel, and work/life balance.
I’m sure many of you have the same questions, so I’ve started sharing some of my responses from the week. Thanks to everyone who reached out with questions, here are a couple…
From Julie:
We are doing a large remodel on our home, including an addition to extend out our garage. We’ve already taken out a personal loan for the remodel but it wasn’t enough to cover the expenses. Do you do your remodel loans for jumbo loans?
The most options for remodel loans are available for mortgages under 400k in Ada County. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get creative. We could explore options with cash out refinancing, home equity lines, and even private loans.
I find in general that most lenders and banks think too much inside their own box, and when you find yourself slightly outside of their box, they too quickly deny you a loan. Which is why we partner with many lenders so that we can help solve more problems, more often.
Everyone’s circumstances are different, but the first step to helping you out is evaluating if you have any equity in your home at this moment.
From Sharon:
I saw a number of posts on Facebook about Impact Club Boise. My husband and I are very interested in participating. How do you join and what does it cost?
Thank you for your interest. I’m very proud of what we are doing with Impact Club; we can see firsthand the positive impact we are making in our local community. To join us, simply go to http://ImpactClub.com.
The commitment each club member makes is $100 per event. We have 4 events a year. 100% of your donations go the charities and since they are registered 501c3 non-profits, your donations are tax deductible. We’ve created options for members to skip a payment if money is tight, but that is the general commitment to join. When you register on the site your card is not charged until the next live event (June 6th), unless you check the box that says you would like to contribute to the most recent past event.
Reach out if you have more questions. The more members we have, the greater the impact we can make in our Boise community!
From Jeff:
How do you have time to do it all?
I wonder the same thing about people who do 100x more than I do, like Richard Branson, Jeff Bezos, Tony Robbins, and Oprah Winfrey. How do they do it? In my situation, I surround myself with amazing people. You can accomplish so much more than you’ve ever thought possible with a team of people who believe in, and are committed to, the same mission. I’ve also had great success in just being disciplined in waking up early, usually between 4:30-5am. That allows me to work with little to no distraction for 3 hours every morning.

Keep asking questions and I’ll keep answering them.
Until next time, Happy Friday!
